The Symantec Firewall/VPN Appliance
200 is an integrated office networking and security
appliance which offers easy, secure access to the Internet.
You can connect all of your networked devices, including
those used by remote offices, using the device's secure
VPN capability. Plus, your network will enjoy complete
security with a powerful and flexible firewall. The
200 series is recommended for up to 40 network nodes,
including PCs and printers. It requires multiple broadband
connections and is ideal for customers who need high
availability and a gateway VPN, but who are not primarily
e-commerce businesses.
The firewall offers stateful inspection
to deliver a high level of security for your office
and all remote or branch offices. The VPN gateway is
an IPSec end point which delivers gateway to gateway
VPN services to another Symantec Firewall/VPN Appliance,
Symantec Enterprise VPN, Symantec PowerVPN, Symantec
Enterprise Firewall with VPN, or Raptor Firewall with
Integrated PowerVPN 6.5+. The IP sharing feature saves
money by letting you share one or two external IP addresses
for an entire office server. To make network set-up
even easier, a DHCP server and client are integrated
and pre-configured.
Centralized Web-based and encrypted
management provides a common look and feel for both
remote and local management. To ensure connectivity
in the event your broadband connection goes down, the
automatic dial-up backup feature enables analog modem-based
connections. The 10/100Mbps switch is auto-sensing to
provide direct connections for your office devices,
while also simplifying set-up and providing fast LAN
performance. Onboard logging includes remote accessibility
with NTP support for log time. A VPN Global tunnel allows
your administrator to restrict all traffic down the
VPN tunnel. Advanced networking features include dynamic
DNS, NAT/PAT, PPPoE, and IPSec passthrough.
