Job Title: Business Consultant - ERP Business Solutions
Office Site: Corona, Irvine or Torrance CA (Headquarters)

Job Summary
CRi Business Consultants are responsible for managing client ERP implementations, upgrades, 3rd party or custom developed solution implementations, business process, accounting and/or technical consulting. CRI Business Solutions will regularly ask its Business Consultants to exercise independent discretion while managing and advising its clients through the implementation process or consulting engagements. CRi’s Business Consultants will influence strategic, operational and purchasing decisions to its clients in quest of improved operational efficiencies.

Business Consultants are responsible for representing the company (CRI) in a positive and professional manner. In addition, Business Consultants are responsible for business process improvement, solution building and project management of budget, resources and timelines.

Business Consultants are required to understand accounting, operations and general best business practices. In addition to these proficiencies, Business Consultants must hold a Bachelor Degree, or Master of Business Administration, or have the equivalent business experience. In addition, technical certifications and/or certifications from the ERP Software Publishers are required.

This position may require some travel. While a majority is local travel through Southern California some National and International travel may be required.

Primary Relationships

  • Reports to:  Managing Consultant
  • Team member of: Consulting Team
  • External: CRi Business Solutions customer base, prospects as well as other industry specific CRI approved organizations.

 

  • Management of ERP Implementation and/or Consulting Engagements
    • Manage and execute each step of implementation process from planning, testing, executing, training and support.
    • Manage project timeline and resources while conscious of budget.
    • Manage client expectations and team expectations to ensure open communication
    • Manage scope of work, manage and mitigate project risks, manage change order process
    • Keep the minimum utilization rates.
    • Help reach Consulting Team goals by looking for additional consulting opportunities.
    • Manage and oversee cross-functional teams throughout the organization (sales, development, admin, etc.)
  • Skill Sets for a Successful Business Consultant
    • Business Skills: Understand accounting and business principles based off of best practices, ability to re-engineer business processes, ability to recommend and document business process improvements.
    • Technical Skills: Install and upgrade software, deploy patches, understand databases and file structures, ability to write technical document and train on technical subjects, perform data conversions, write/understand SQL scripts, etc. Comfortable working with MS SQL Server, Windows Server 2003, VPN Solutions, Remote Desktop Sharing Software.
    • Research Skills: Understand how to use resources to find a solution to a problem.
    • Writing Skills: Ability to organize business logic for development projects, interpret client needs and translate in documentation, ability to write technical documents for end users.
    • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with team and client in verbal and written form, ability to explain business and technical concepts to non-business/technical users, ability to address business owners and/or C-Level Executives, ability to manage and mediate client meetings.
    • Project Management Skills: Ability to recognizes projects risks (over budget, client push back, off implementation schedule), review and understand scope of work and identify change order opportunities).
    • Sales Skills: Ability to uncover additional consulting opportunities, ability to execute sales demonstrations, ability to build solutions for the client.

Qualifications

  • Required
    • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or the equivalent business experience
    • This position requires at least 2-3 years prior consulting/business experience.
    • Familiarity with ERP packages such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or Sage MAS 90, MAS 200 or MAS 500 or ability to attend training course and pass certification exam.
    • Ability to work with and communicate with business owners and C-level executives. This candidate should have strong customer focus.
    • They should also be results oriented and highly skilled in leading and producing results through influence and collaboration.
    • Solid Understanding of accounting principles and business processes.
    • Excellent written and phone communication skills.
    • Can readily multitask and manage concurrent activities under demanding timelines in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to deal with all personality types and work well in a team environment.
    • Willingness to learn and think outside of the box
  • Preferred
    • Masters in Business Administration
    • Certifications with any of these ERP packages such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or Sage MAS 90, MAS 200 or MAS 500
